Take that crescent and stuff it!

After seeing stuffed crescents on Pinterest I decided to give it a go.  How hard could it be?  Not hard at all actually.  My first attempt, Nutella.

Ingredients:

1 tube of crescent rolls (8 count)
1/2 cup Nutella (estimation)

Instructions:

1.  Preheat oven to 350 or as directed on the package of rolls.
2.  Unroll and separate the crescents.
3.  Spread Nutella evenly along the roll.  Do not go all the way to the edge.
4.  Roll and bake as directed.
5.  Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

Boy were they yummy!  *Note to readers, this recipe makes eight.  IE not a lot*

Stuffed take two... what about cream cheese?

While working, I noticed Philadelphia Cream Cheese has put out a seasonal pumpkin flavor... hmmm pumpkin...

Same instructions as above, add cream cheese instead.

Pumpkin Filling

Totally yummy!  With the powdered sugar on top, this variation almost tasted like a filled cake donut.

Stuffed take three... Baklava!!!

Okay, so this took some brainstorming.  I know the recipe for baklava but how do you stuff that into a crescent.

Ingredients:

1 tube of crescent rolls
1/2 finely chopped pecans
2 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup honey

Instructions:

Follow steps 1 & 2 as previously instructed.

1.  Preheat oven to 350 or as directed on the package of rolls.
2.  Unroll and separate the crescents.  Place dough in cupcake pan.
3.  Shake the cinnamon, sugar, and pecans together until thoroughly coated.
4.  Divide butter evenly between the rolls, followed by the pecan mixture then the honey.
5.  Close the crescents and bake as directed by the package.
6.  Enjoy warm.

OMGeepers were they tasty!  Sadly though, it was not baklava.

The taste was more like a outside-in sticky bun.

These little treats would be great at breakfast with coffee, with tea at brunch, or even as dessert.  Could I have made it more baklava like?  Sure!  But I wasn't going for a complete replicate of that gooey goodness, but self-contained amazingness.  Perhaps I could have added more honey.  I guess I will just have to try and try again.
